October Update

Update for the October 2021 period, including latest regarding event cancellations.

There was no October meeting of DBHS. John Jack, who was to talk about Dahlias has been asked to come in October 2022. Surely, we will be back to normal by then. The next meeting scheduled for 5th November 2021, was to be a Willow Workshop led by Rob Eves. As it is a practical meeting with lots of moving about between tables, we have decided to cancel it as not being suitable in the circumstances. The AGM will be held by circulating the papers prior to the meeting and running it by email as we did last year.

The latest number, given this week, as advised by Fife Council, to be allowed into Dalgety Bay Community Centre, is 30. This we consider is still not quite enough for DBHS. Masks would have to be worn and a one-way system of entry and exit would have to be operated. Probably no teas and coffees would be served. We intend to resume our meetings on 7th January 2022, if we can get a speaker. This has been a terrible year for DBHS and for many other organisations. Please let us be back to normal next year.

We are currently working on a 2022 Syllabus of meetings for DBHS, which will be circulated with the January Grapevine. Hopefully the speakers for the 2021 cancelled meetings will be willing to come along to do their presentations in 2022.

The “Jobs for” October part of the DBHS report is on the tips page to see what jobs you should be doing at this time of year.

Sincerely,

Michael Gourlay

Chairman
